Q (Qaaf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
QAF. I CALL to witness the glorious Qur'an. 1 But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! 2 When we have died and have become dust, [we will return to life]? That is a distant return." 3 We know that which the earth takes of them (their dead bodies), and with Us is a Book preserved (i.e. the Book of Decrees). 4 But they denied the truth when it came to them, so they are in a confused condition. 5 Have they not observed the sky above them and marked how We have built it and adorned it, leaving no flaws in it; 6 And the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)- 7 thus offering an insight and a reminder unto every human being who willingly turns unto God. 8 And We send down from the sky rain charted with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and Grain for harvests; 9 And tall date-palms with their spathes pile on pile 10 Provision (made) for men; and therewith We quicken a dead land. Even so will be the resurrection of the dead. 11 The people of Noah denied before them, and the companions of the well and Thamud 12 The 'Ad, Pharaoh, the brethren of Lut, 13 dwellers of the forest, and the people of Tubba had all rejected the Prophets. Thus, they became subject to Our torment. 14 What, were We wearied by the first creation? No indeed; but they are in uncertainty as to the new creation. 15
