The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 On lined couches, 15 facing one another. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 And spreading shade, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
