The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 you pay attention 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
