The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the sun and his brightness, 1 And [by] the moon when it follows it 2 And the day when it shows it, 3 By the night when it envelopeth it, 4 And [by] the sky and He who constructed it 5 and by the earth and how He spread it, 6 And a soul and Him Who perfected it 7 And inspired in it the knowledge of its sins and its piety. 8 He who purifies it will prosper, 9 And indeed failed is the one who covered it in sin. 10 Thamud belied in their exorbitance. 11 when the most wretched of them uprose, 12 And the messenger of Allah said: It is the she-camel of Allah, so let her drink! 13 But they cried him lies, and hamstrung her, so their Lord crushed them for their sin, and leveled them: 14 for none [of them] had any fear of what might befall them. 15
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
