Verily We created man of potter's clay of black mud altered, 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 When your Lord said to the angels, "I will create the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay. 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 30 except Iblis who refused to join with the others in prostration. 31 He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. 34 A curse shall be on you till the Day of Recompense' 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 for an appointed time." 38 [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 God said, "This is the path which leads straight to Me. 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 and for all such, behold, hell is the promised goal. 43 "It (Hell) has seven gates, for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
