Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Those who take heed for themselves and fear God, will be amidst shade and springs of water, 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 The living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 'Depart unto that which ye were wont to belie. 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 When the stars are obliterated, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
