In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 labouring, weary, 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 therein a running fountain, 12 and couches raised high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
