Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,- 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 and Who, when I am ill, heals me; 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 "And forgive my father - for, verily, he is among those who have gone astray 86 And disgrace me not on the day when they are raised 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil). 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 who will be asked, "What did you worship 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 So they shall be thrown down into it, they and the erring ones, 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
