But as for anyone who chooses to remain blind to the remembrance of the Most Gracious, to him We assign an [enduring] evil impulse, to become his other self: 36 Satan will prevent them from the right path while they think that they have the right guidance. 37 When such a person comes to Us, he will say [to his comrade], "If only you had been as far away from me as east is from west. What an evil comrade!" 38 It shall not profit you today, since you did evil, that you are partners in the chastisement. 39 Wherefore canst thou make the deaf to hear, or canst thou guide the blind or him who is is error manifest? 40 But if We should take you away, still We shall inflict retribution on them; 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 So hold you (O Muhammad SAW) fast to that which is inspired in you. Verily, you are on a Straight Path. 43 And it is undoubtedly an honour for you and your people; and you will soon be questioned. 44 Inquire of apostles We had sent before you if We appointed gods to be worshipped other than Ar-Rahman. 45
