Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion of the Universe, and Who has power over everything; 1 who created death and life, that He might try you which of you is fairest in works; and He is the All-mighty, the All-forgiving -- 2 who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack! 3 Then look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation and worn out. 4 We have decked the lowest heavens with torches. With these torches We have stoned the devils and We have prepared for them the torment of hell. 5 The chastisement of Hell awaits those who disbelieve in their Lord. What a wretched destination! 6 When they will be cast thereinto, they will hear thereof a braying even as it boileth up, 7 nearly bursting apart out of rage. Every time a host is cast therein, its keepers will ask them: 'Did no one come to warn you' 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" 9 And they will then say: 'If only we had listened and understood we should not now be among the inhabitants of the Blaze' 10 So they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames. 11 As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 12 Be secret in your speech, or proclaim it, He knows the thoughts within the breasts. 13 Does the One Who is Subtle, All-aware, and Who created all things not know all about them? 14
