The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 And they who guard their private parts 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Those who will get the inheritance of Paradise; they will abide in it forever. 11 NOW, INDEED, We create man out of the essence of clay, 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Then We created of the drop, a clot (of congealed blood) and We created the clot into bitesize tissue, then We created the bitesize tissue into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it an other creation. Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 And on them, and on ships you are carried. 22
