The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 Recall when their brother Noah said to them: "Do you have no fear? 106 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 107 so fear Allah, and obey me. 108 I ask no payment from you for my preaching. The Lord of the Universe will give me my reward. 109 "So fear Allah, and obey me." 110 ۞ They said: "Shall we believe in thee when it is the meanest that follow thee?" 111 He said: "And what knowledge have I of what they used to do? 112 Their account falls only upon My Lord, if you were but aware. 113 "I am not one to drive away those who believe. 114 I am naught but a plain warner. 115 They said: "If thou desist not, O Noah! thou shalt be stoned (to death)." 116 Noah said, "My Lord, my people have rejected me, 117 so give true deliverance between me and them, and deliver me and the believers that are with me. 118 So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship. 119 Then after it, We drowned the rest. 120 Verily there is a sign in this, yet many of them do not believe. 121 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 122
