Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.) 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, the erring follow them, 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 And that they say what they do not do? - 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
