The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the aligners (angels) aligning. 1 And those who drive [the clouds] 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the planets, 6 (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits, 7 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 8 rejected, and theirs is an everlasting chastisement, 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 And they do not understand, when explained to. 13 And when they see a sign, they ridicule 14 And say, "This is not but obvious magic. 15 “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we certainly be raised again?” 16 Will our forefathers also be brought to life again?" 17 You say: "Yes; and you will be lowly made." 18 It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing. 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
