Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
