The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
