O People who Believe! Do not devour usury doubling and quadrupling it; and fear Allah, hoping that you achieve success. 130 And save yourselves from the fire which is prepared for disbelievers. 131 And obey Allah and the Noble Messenger, hoping that you gain mercy. (Obeying the Prophet is in fact obeying Allah.) 132 ۞ And march forth in the way (which leads to) forgiveness from your Lord, and for Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2). 133 Those who spend [in Allah's Cause - deeds of charity, alms, etc.] in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers). 134 And those who, when they do an evil thing or wrong themselves, remember Allah and implore forgiveness for their sins - Who forgiveth sins save Allah only? - and will not knowingly repeat (the wrong) they did. 135 their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens with rivers flowing through them, where they will abide forever. How excellent will be the reward of those who do good works. 136 There have been examples before you. Journey in the land and see what was the fate of the liars. 137 This (the Quran) is a plain statement for mankind, a guidance and instruction to those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2). 138 And faint not, nor grieve; ye shall overcome, if ye are believers. 139 If a wound has afflicted you (at Ohud), a wound like it has also afflicted the (unbelieving) people; and We bring these days to men by turns, and that Allah may know those who believe and take witnesses from among you; and Allah does not love the unjust. 140 Allah's object also is to purge those that are true in Faith and to deprive of blessing Those that resist Faith. 141 Do you think that you will enter the garden while Allah has not yet known those who strive hard from among you, and (He has not) known the patient. 142 You used to wish for death before you met it, so you have seen it while you were looking. 143
