'O Messengers, eat of the good things and do righteousness; surely I know the things you do. 51 Your nation is but one nation, and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me. 52 But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing. 53 Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till 54 Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons, 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Verily, [only] they who stand in reverent awe of their Sustainer, 57 and who believe in their Sustainer's messages, 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, 60 These people hasten to perform goodness, and it is they who shall reach it first. 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in perplexity as to this, and they have deeds besides that that they are doing. 63 Till, when We seize with the chastisement the ones of them that live at ease, behold, they groan. 64 Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped. 65 “My verses were recited to you, so you used to turn back on your heels.” 66 and arrogantly mocked and reviled them. 67 Then have they not reflected over the Qur'an, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers? 68 Or did you not recognize your Messenger and, thus, denied him (Muhammad) 69 Or do they say: "There is madness in him"? Nay, he has brought them the truth - and the truth do most of them detest! 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision. 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 And most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter are deviating from the way. 74 ۞ Were We to be merciful to them and remove from them their present afflictions, they would persist in their transgression, blindly wandering on. 75 We inflicted Punishment on them, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor do they submissively entreat (Him)!- 76 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! 77
