Verily We bestowed Our favours on Moses and Aaron 114 and saved them and their people from great distress. 115 and succoured them, so that [in the end] it was they who achieved victory. 116 And We gave them both the Book that made (things) clear. 117 and guided them upon the Straight Path. 118 And We left for them (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times; 119 'Peace be upon Moses and, Aaron!' 120 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 121 Indeed they are two of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 122 And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn), 123 (Call to mind) when he said to his people: “Will you not fear Allah? 124 "Will you call upon Ba'l (a well- known idol of his nation whom they used to worship) and forsake the Best of creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?" 126 But they cried him lies; so they will be among the arraigned, 127 except the chosen servants of God. 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 Peace be on Elias. 130 This is how We reward the virtuous. 131 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 132 So also was Lut among those sent (by Us). 133 When We saved him and his household, every one, 134 Except an old woman (who was) amongst those who tarried. 135 and then We utterly destroyed the others: 136 You pass by (their ruined town) in the morning 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138
