۞ God is He who has subjected to you the sea, that the ships may run on it at His commandment, and that you may seek His bounty; haply so you will be thankful. 12 And He has subjected to you what is in the heavens and what is in the earth, all together, from Him. Surely in that are signs for a people who reflect. 13 Tell the believers to forgive those who do not have faith in the days of God (Day of Judgment) and Resurrection. God will give due recompense to all the people for their deeds. 14 Whoever does a good deed - it is for himself; and whoever does evil - it is against the self. Then to your Lord you will be returned. 15 We gave the children of Israel the Book, and the judgement and the prophethood, provided them with good things, favoured them over other people, 16 We gave them clear directions in matters pertaining to religion. Yet they differed among themselves (not out of ignorance but) after knowledge had come to them; and they did so out of the desire to commit excesses against one another. On the Day of Resurrection Allah will judge among them regarding what they had differed. 17 We have established for you a code of conduct and a religion. Follow it and do not follow the desires of the ignorant people. 18 Verily, they can avail you nothing against Allah (if He wants to punish you). Verily, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, etc.) are Auliya' (protectors, helpers, etc.) to one another, but Allah is the Wali (Helper, Protector, etc.) of the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 19 These are clear proofs for men, and a guidance and a mercy for a people who are sure. 20 What! Do those who seek after evil ways think that We shall hold them equal with those who believe and do righteous deeds,- that equal will be their life and their death? Ill is the judgment that they make. 21
