Thamood cried lies to the warnings 23 They said, "Should we follow only one person among us. We shall be clearly in error and in trouble (if we do so). 24 Hath the remembrance been given unto him alone among us? Nay, but he is a rash liar. 25 They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar. 26 “We shall send a she-camel to test them, therefore O Saleh, wait and have patience.” 27 And tell them that the water is to be divided between them, each drink for each in turn. 28 But they called their commander, who seized and hamstrung her. 29 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 30 Surely We sent upon them a single cry, so they were like the dry fragments of trees which the maker of an enclosure collects. 31 Hence, indeed, We made this Qur'an easy to bear in mind: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 32 The people of Lot denied the warning. 33 Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night, 34 Thus do We recompense the grateful ones. 35 And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning. 36 They even solicited of him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes: 'Now, taste My punishment and My warnings' 37 And certainly a lasting chastisement overtook them in the morning. 38 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 39 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 40
