The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
