And (remember) Nuh (Noah), when he cried (to Us) aforetime. We listened to his invocation and saved him and his family from great distress. 76 And We saved him from the people who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were a people of evil, so We drowned them, all together. 77 And Daud and Sulaiman! recall what time they gave judgment regarding the tillage when certain people's sheep had pastured therein at night; and of the judgment concerning them We were the Witnesses. 78 And We gave understanding of the case to Solomon, and to each [of them] We gave judgement and knowledge. And We subjected the mountains to exalt [Us], along with David and [also] the birds. And We were doing [that]. 79 It was We Who taught him the art of making coats of mail for your benefit so that it may protect you from each other's violence. Do you, then, give thanks? 80 And unto Solomon (We subdued) the wind in its raging. It set by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And of everything We are Aware. 81 We also subjected to him some of the jinn who dived for him in the sea and performed other tasks; We kept a watch over them. 82 ۞ Remember Job when he called on his Lord saying, "I have been afflicted with great distress: but You are the most merciful of the merciful." 83 "We answered his prayer, relieved him from his hardships, brought his family (back to him) and gave him twice as much property as that (which was destroyed). It was a mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers. 84 Remember Ishmael and Idris and Dhul Kifl: they were all patient and steadfast. 85 We admitted them to Our mercy: for they were of the righteous ones. 86 Remember the man in the whale [Jonah] when he went away in anger, thinking We had no power over him. But he cried out in the darkness, "There is no deity but You. Glory be to You! I was indeed wrong." 87 So We answered his call, and delivered him from the distress. And thus We do deliver the believers (who believe in the Oneness of Allah, abstain from evil and work righteousness). 88 And Zachariah when he called to his Lord saying: 'Lord, do not let me remain by myself; You are the Best of inheritors' 89 So We accepted his prayer and bestowed upon him John, and We made his wife fit (to bear a child). Verily they hastened in doing good works and called upon Us with longing and fear, and humbled themselves to Us. 90 Remember the one who guarded her chastity; so We breathed Our Spirit into her, and made her and her son a sign for all people. 91 Truly! This, your Ummah [Sharia or religion (Islamic Monotheism)] is one religion, and I am your Lord, therefore worship Me (Alone). [Tafsir Ibn Kathir] 92 And others have shattered their works into pieces among themselves; all have to return to Us. 93
