Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ O People! Fear your Lord. The catastrophe of the Last Hour shall be terrible indeed: 1 On the day when you shall see it, every woman giving suck shall quit in confusion what she suckled, and every pregnant woman shall lay down her burden, and you shall see men intoxicated, and they shall not be intoxicated but the chastisement of Allah will be severe. 2 Yet there are some who dispute about God without having any knowledge and they follow every rebellious devil, 3 Against whom it is prescribed, that: whosoever befriendeth him, him he shall lead astray and shall guide him on to the torment of the Flame. 4 O mankind! if ye have a doubt about the Resurrection, (consider) that We created you out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like clot, then out of a morsel of flesh, partly formed and partly unformed, in order that We may manifest (our power) to you; and We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring you out as babes, then (foster you) that ye may reach your age of full strength; and some of you are called to die, and some are sent back to the feeblest old age, so that they know nothing after having known (much), and (further), thou seest the earth barren and lifeless, but when We pour down rain on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells, and it puts forth every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs). 5 that is because God is the truth. It is He who gives life to the dead and He has the power to will anything. 6 The Last Hour is bound to come. There is no doubt about it. God will raise up those who are in their graves. 7 And there is one who argues concerning Allah without having knowledge nor any proof nor a clear text. 8 Bending his neck, that he may lead astray from the way of Allah; his shall be humiliation in the world, and We shall make him taste on the Day of Judgment the torment of burning. 9 (And unto him it will be said): This is for that which thy two hands have sent before, and because Allah is no oppressor of His slaves. 10
