Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
