Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account." 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In high empyrean 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 nor any food save the filth 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
