The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 What is your opinion regarding him who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 [the while] We shall summon the forces of heavenly chastisement! 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
