And verily, the dwellers of Al-Hijr (the rocky tract) denied the Messengers. 80 We gave them Our signs, but they turned away from them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 Like (those) We had sent to those schismatics who slandered their Books 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 For that which they have been working. 93 Hence, proclaim openly all that thou hast been bidden [to say,] and leave alone all those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 But celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and be of those who prostrate themselves in adoration. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death). 99
