Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 And withal, never have We destroyed any community unless it had been warned 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Art thou not aware that they roam confusedly through all the valleys [of words and thoughts,] 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
