Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

Ha-Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 A Book the verses of which are explained in detail, the Qur’an in Arabic for people of intellect. 3 As a giver of good tidings and a warner; but most of them turn away, so they do not hear. 4 They say: 'Our hearts are veiled from that to which you call us, and in our ears there is heaviness. And between us and you is a veil. So work (as you will) and we are working' 5 Say: 'I am only a mortal, like you are. To me it has been revealed that your God is One God; so go straight with Him, and ask for His forgiveness; and woe to the idolaters 6 who do not pay the zakat, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward uninterrupted. 8
