We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped, 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
