The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not take heed? 124 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 127 You construct monuments on every hill in vain, 128 "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me 131 Fear Him who has bestowed on you what you know, 132 He hath aided you with cattle and sons. 133 And orchards and springs. 134 "Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day." 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers! 136 this is nothing but the habit of the ancients, 137 "And we are not going to be punished." 138 So they cried him lies; then We destroyed them. Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and merciful. 140
