The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hood said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 124 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 126 I ask no recompense of you for it. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 127 What, do you build on every prominence a sign, sporting, 128 And do you take to yourselves underground reservoirs, in order to live for ever! 129 And if ye seize by force, seize ye as tyrants? 130 Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 131 fear Him who has aided you with all that you know -- 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 And gardens and springs. 134 I fear the punishment of a terrible day for you. 135 They said, "Whether you preach to us or not, 136 this is nothing but the habit of the ancients, 137 and we shall not be punished." 138 And they denied him; therefor We destroyed them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 139 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
