The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, do not be among the cheats, 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 And defraud not people of their things, and commit not corruption on the earth. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 191
