Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 So We brought forth such believers as were in it, 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
