Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
