Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
