The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the mount. 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 on fine parchment; 3 And the House frequented, 4 and the roof uplifted 5 and by the swelling sea, 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 There is none that can avert it; 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 And the mountains will move with a visible movement. 10 So on that day, ruin is for those who deny. 11 That play (and paddle) in shallow trifles. 12 On the Day whereon they will be pushed into Hell-Fire with a dreadful push. 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 Is this magic or do you not see? 15 Roast in it, bear it with or without patience, it is the same, you are only being recompensed for that which you used to do' 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. 18 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did, 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 And We will aid them with fruit and flesh such as they desire. 22 There, they shall pass from hand to hand a cup which does not lead to any idle talk or sin. 23 ۞ There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. 24 And some of them draw near unto others, questioning, 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 God has been gracious to us and has saved us from the torment of Hell's intense heat -- 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28
