Nay, and by the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 we fed not the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
