The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars darken, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So where are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
