۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherers 53 "These," they said, "are only a small band, 54 who have certainly provoked our wrath. 55 And lo! we are a ready host. 56 So We made them leave their gardens and springs, 57 And treasures and a fair estate. 58 So it was; and We made the Descendants of Israel its inheritors. 59 Pharaoh and his people pursued them at sunrise, 60 And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken!" 61 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Nay, verily! With me is my Lord, He will guide me." 62 Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain. 63 And there We brought the others on, 64 And We saved Musa and those with him, all of them. 65 then We drowned the others. 66 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 67 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 68
