And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 and who I am eager shall forgive me my offence on the Day of Doom. 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And grant me an honourable mention in later generations; 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil). 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 nor any loving friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104
