We also bestowed Our favour on Moses and Aaron: 114 and We delivered both of them and their people from the great calamity. 115 And helped them, so that they became the victors; 116 and We gave them the Manifesting Book, 117 And We led the twain on unto the straight path. 118 and perpetuated their praise in later generations. 119 'Peace be upon Moses and, Aaron!' 120 Even thus do We reward the doers of good. 121 For they were two of our believing Servants. 122 And verily, Iliyas (Elias) was one of the Messengers. 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God? 124 "Will you call upon Ba'l (a well- known idol of his nation whom they used to worship) and forsake the Best of creators, 125 "Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 except the sincere servants of God. 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 Peace be on Elias. 130 In this way do We reward the righteous ones. 131 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 132 Lot was also one of the messengers. 133 When We delivered him and his followers, all-- 134 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 135 and We destroyed the others. 136 You pass by their desolate habitations in the morning 137 And by night: will ye not understand? 138
