The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Mount, 1 and by the Scripture penned 2 On a parchment scroll unrolled, 3 And by oath of the Inhabited House. 4 And the lofty roof. 5 and the sea that is full 6 Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur. 7 there is none who could avert it. 8 On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. 9 And the mountains will move away with a (horrible) movement. 10 So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth), 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence. 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 Is it magic, or you cannot see? 15 “Enter it – now whether you patiently bear it or are impatient – it is the same for you; for you is a recompense only for what you used to do.” 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 18 Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 We shall give them fruits and meats, and what they desire. 22 They will therein snatch from one another a cup; therein will be neither vain babble nor sin. 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 They will turn to one another ask questions, 25 They will say: "Behold, aforetime - when we were [still living] in the midst of our kith and kin - we were full of fear [at the thought of God's displeasure]: 26 God has been gracious to us and has saved us from the torment of Hell's intense heat -- 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
