He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 but as for him who came unto thee full of eagerness 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble and pious. 16 Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 then eased his path for him, 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 Not one - he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 And We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 And the olive and the palm, 29 And garden-closes of thick foliage 30 and fruits and pastures – 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 his consort, his sons, 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 laughing and joyful, 39 but others will be gloomy 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
