So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
