The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 and gathered his people together 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
