Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

By the midday brightness 1 and by the night when it covers, 2 your Lord has not forsaken you (Prophet Muhammad), nor does He hate you. 3 What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you as an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness, 9 and him that seeks [thy] help shalt thou never chide, 10 But tell of the favors of your Lord! 11
