When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 and my breast will be straitened, and my tongue will not be loosed; so send to Aaron. 13 “And they have an accusation against me, so I fear that they may kill me.” 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 that you let the Children of Israel go with us.'" 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 Said Moosa, “I did that at a time when I was unaware of the consequences.” (In anger – See verse 28:15) 20 So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the apostles; 21 And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 'Do you not hear' said he (Pharaoh) to those around him. 25 Moses said: "(He is) Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of yore." 26 [Pharaoh] exclaimed: "Behold, [this] your 'apostle' who [claims that he] has been sent unto you is mad indeed! 27 He said: Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them, if ye did but understand. 28 Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' 31 So Moosa put down his staff and it became a visible serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
