Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They replied: 'You are surely one of those bewitched. 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful." 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 191
